🫠 | FIA Seeks to Reduce Engine Manufacturers' Influence
Recently, Formula 1 and the FIA have had to constantly defend the overly complex technical regulations, which have clearly divided fans. It has become apparent that one of the main reasons for this complexity is the excessive influence of car manufacturers.
During discussions about the current rules, many automotive companies categorically stated that they would never develop new internal combustion engines again. This forced the championship to heavily adapt to their demands. However, times and the political landscape are changing, and brands do not always keep their promises.
Now, the leadership of Formula 1 has taken a firmer stance: "We cannot be held hostage by car manufacturers." It is expected that reducing manufacturers' influence in the future will allow:
• Simplification of the rules.
• Making technical aspects less dependent on corporate whims.
