🪪 | Lando Norris Sees Opportunity for McLaren Amid Mercedes' Internal Rivalry
The British driver hopes the fierce battle between Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell will work in his team's favor. McLaren's start to the 2026 season has been less than ideal; due to regulation changes, the team has struggled to maintain its championship form, and Norris has yet to reach the podium in the opening races.
Meanwhile, Mercedes has dominated completely, winning all three opening races, with young Antonelli currently leading Russell in the drivers' standings.
"The more they fight each other, the better. Kimi is only in his second year in F1, and he's doing great, showing excellent speed and convincingly battling George.
We know we're a bit behind at the start of the season, but we're really hoping to catch up to them. The more points they take off each other, the better it is for us," Norris said.
Norris draws parallels to last year when McLaren made an incredible mid-season surge and challenged Max Verstappen. This time, he hopes for a similar scenario, but with the goal of catching the leaders from Mercedes.
