Formula 1 to Abandon 50/50 Power Split Between ICE and Electric in 2027
In 2027, Formula 1 will change the power distribution between the internal combustion engine and electric components, increasing ICE power by 50 kW while reducing electric power by the same amount.
In 2027, Formula 1 will abandon the 50/50 power output split between the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the electric component.
As a result, the nominal power of the ICE will increase by 50 kW, while the electric component's power will decrease by the same 50 kW. It was reported that an online meeting took place today involving engine manufacturers, team principals, and championship representatives, during which this decision was agreed upon.
