Leclerc Does Not Expect Ferrari Upgrades to Close Gap to Mercedes
The Monegasque driver acknowledged that the calendar break allowed teams to develop almost new cars, but Mercedes will still remain out of reach. "I am almost certain that most teams will present essentially new cars here. However, I doubt this will significantly change the competitive order we have seen since the start of the year. Perhaps the gaps between some teams will become larger or smaller—I don't know. As for us, at the last Grand Prix McLaren was very close, and I think these upgrades will matter—I hope in our favor. But when it comes to catching Mercedes—they have been too far ahead for us to close that gap solely with what we have brought here."
